In the year 2011-2012 we are conducting a music project for children 18 and under in Santa Cruz, CA. In addition we have recently purchased some equipment for the ADASE clinic in Sullana, Peru, serving children with cerebral palsy. MUSIC PROGRAM
SANTA CRUZ, CALIFORNIA
The "Building Rhythm" project, Sept 2010 - Aug 2011, brought an experiential music program to 90 persons with developmental disabilities. We conducted weekly sessions at three day program sites. We are looking for funding to continue.
ARUSHA, TANZANIA
In 2008, we completed construction of a three-classroom block and an attached auditorium on the school grounds of the Secei Elementary School. We are continuing to support some improvements and a school lunch program.
CHINCHA BAJA, PERU June 2009, we completed construction of a resource and rehabilitation center to serve this town and the surrounding communities devastated by the August 15, 2007 8.0 earthquake. We are continuing to support some improvements.
FILANDIA, COLOMBIA This was a mini-project conducted after a visit to the rehabilitation clinic, Abriendo Caminos, in Filandia, Colombia.This clinic is the birthplace of a 13 piece orchestra "Chirimia". All members have special needs. Building for Generations recorded their music and they now have CD's for sale.
